How
To Get Rid Of Wasps!
I want to start out by saying that I'm sure Wasps are
amazing creatures that have a place in this society....but the place is
preferably NOT around my house. Some people can sit around a
buzzing wasp/bee and be perfectly content to just let each other go
about their business. I am NOT one of those people, and I
suspect that you aren't either. As much as they serve a
purpose for a garden, I'd much rather have shriveled up plants as
opposed to wasps buzzing around my head everytime I want to use the
grill!
When I moved into my new house, I started dealing with something I
never really had thought about before....WASPS! I actually
don't even like to say the word, it just sends shivers up my
spine. It started out with a nest or so per year, I'd take it
down and they'd be gone until next year. Then year after
year, they started to hang around my house a bit more than I would
like.
2008 was probably the first year that they really started to bother me,
since they made a nest inside the exhaust from my bathroom and started
visiting me when I was brushing my teeth in the morning. To prevent
that from happening, I hired a wasp exterminator to come around and
help me out with a little Spring-time Wasp Prevention. Things
were reasonably under control that year, I just had to take down a
couple nests but nothing major. And then 2010 hit, I knew we
were going to have problems when I spotted many of them in early
Spring. By June, my backyard was absolutely SWARMING with
wasps and there was no visible Wasp Nest in sight!
So what did I do about it? Well, that's what this site is
about. My wife jokes that I became an expert in Wasp Sprays,
Wasp Repellants, and just overall good knowledge about how to kill
wasps! I knew I had accumulated way too much information when
I started spewing out information about wasps at a friend's
get-together. So I created this site to kinda stick our
information together and let everyone share what worked for them or
what didn't work. Also to give you my experience on what to
do when you see those pesky things buzzing around your backyard.
I've tried quite a few solutions and I know many other people
have. So at the very least we can figure out what products
work or don't work and what the best strategies for keeping our yards
(and homes) free.
